We sure had a fun week! Our routines are changing almost daily as we finish up our assessments and add in lots of fun end of the year activities. Even though Monday was a "do what you want" day we did manage to squeeze in some learning too! Here are our learning goals for the week:
Reading: Noticing when you make a mistake and trying a strategy to correct it.
Writing: When writing an opinion piece you must think...decide... and explain!
Math: Understanding subtraction
Science: Life cycle of a butterfly
We are also reading and loving Charlotte's Web!
We were all sad to miss our field trip, however we definitely made the best of the day! So many kids told me it was the best day ever. And I got more hugs on Monday than I have all year!
Mr. Moody is one of our teacher's aides for our building. He helps out a ton at recess and lunch. He came to our class to share about when he was younger. He was in the Navy on a ship that recovered astronauts from Apollo 16 and Apollo 17. He had some amazing pictures! We are all impressed with what he has done.
Fun Show and Tell
We are watching the life cycle of caterpillars! They started as tiny little caterpillars and now they are working on making their chrysalis! We will release our beautiful butterflies when they come out.
Friday afternoon was Drop Everything and Read time. We had a few of Mrs. Reinkemeyer's friends too! We chose to use this time to buddy read and hear a story from Mr. Moody! We loved having him back again.
General Announcements:
- For the next few weeks, I will only be marking the checklist portion of the weekly checklist. Unless there is a concern, I will not be writing comments. I will make sure the report card comments are full of good information for you!
- I do have more pictures of more kids but for some reason they aren't accessible quite yet! I will do a separate picture post with more as soon as I can get it to work! I'm sure there is a way but I'm not quite skilled enough to figure it out!
