It's Science Time!

Friday, March 8, 2019
We started a new science unit this week called, "Plants and animals."  We have been learning how to decide if something is living or non-living.  We learned there are 5 traits of living things:  It grows.  It uses energy.  It makes more of it's own kind.  It has cells.  It adapts to it's environment.

We used our five senses to observe some objects in our classroom and on you tube for the insects.  Then we used the traits to determine the things we were observing were living or non-living.  We also learned about what living things need to survive.  It has been an exciting week! Here are our learning objectives for the week:Reading:  Fluency with letter sounds, checking the picture for a clue, covering the word and thinking what sounds rightWriting:    Telling three facts using the words can, have and are to help us state something true about our topics.  Writing a beginning and and ending for our work. Math:  Graphing and categorizing, adding on paper, 3D shapesScience:  Living & Non-living, parts of a plantFundations:  Segmenting and blending words, retelling a story
