Fancy Day!

Fancy day was a success!  The kids all looked quite lovely in their dress up clothes.  Today we learned all about manners.  We learned that saying please, thank you, you're welcome and excuse me are all polite words.  We also learned how to order off of a menu and how to have good dinner behavior.  We practiced being a server and also being a patron at a restaurant.  Then we put our new skills to work at Wrigh'ts restaurant.  Ask your child to tell you about some of our manners that we used today!  I am hopeful that they will use them with you and your families as you dine over the break!  Thank you to all of those that helped with our Friends Feast.  It was wonderful.  Have a great break!

This week

I am so glad to be back!  I never thought I’d actually get sick of watching TV all by myself.  We are so lucky to have had the same sub for all three days that I was gone.  She left us a great report as well. 

In writing we are learning that writers write for readers.  We’ve been talking about the kinds of writing that readers want to read.  Here we are sharing our writing with friends in our class!

Next week, will be our friends feast.  If you signed up to send some food for our feast, please send it on Tuesday morning.  We will use this time to practice manners, and be thankful for our school and our friends.  

Our class will be participating in Book it.  This is a program through Pizza hut.  We will use our reading logs to participate in this.  If you and your child fill out most of the reading log and read most nights, I will attach a coupon for a free personal pan pizza.  I will be doing this each month starting at the end of this month.  I know this month is a bit of an exception as I had the reading logs while I was sick!  I will be looking for at least half for this month.  Happy reading and have a great weekend!  

 

Grandparents day

Grandparents’ day/ Veterans Day was a success!  I’m sad that I missed it.  From the pictures it looks like tons of fun.
