Wright's Restaurant

Wright's Restaurant was a success!  The mood was set with low lighting, "candles", and piano music.  We enjoyed each other's company and practiced good table manners.  The kids did a fantastic job of ordering off the menu and waiting until everyone got their food to begin.  I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving of your own!  Enjoy the pictures of our fun event.

Busy couple weeks!

Thank you all for coming to conferences.  I really enjoyed sharing all the wonderful things your kids are doing with you.  You've got some great kids!  Also a huge thank you to all the families and grandfamilies that donated books to our classroom!  We've got a special basket in our classroom library dedicated to those books.  They have been a popular choice!

We have been reading books about kindness and manners.  To celebrate this learning and to be thankful for each other we will be having our friends feast.  On Tuesday afternoon, our room will be transformed into Wright's restaurant.  We will dine together and practice the manners we have been learning about.  Your child is invited to dress up on Tuesday to help make this day special.  If you signed up to send food please send it on Tuesday Morning.  Thank you to all those who signed up to send food and to our three moms who will be waiting tables.

This week's learning objectives:
Reading: Sight word: is, it, in -  using the picture as a clue, looking at the first letter to identify a word
Writing:  Using word wall words to write sentences, using punctuation, introduction to writing more than one sentence on a topic
Math:  Number identification, number formation, positional words, identifying shapes by attribute
Fundations:  segmenting and blending words by sound
Science:  Understanding habitats
