This week was a busy week but a fun week. And even though it was only a three day week we packed in learning and fun. We me our 2nd grade buddies for the first time and had a party too! During our Daily 5 time, we took a break from small groups so that I could finish up assessing for grade cards. I am so impressed with the growth that our kiddos have made. I am truly in awe of all their hard work. I can't wait to share it with you in a couple weeks. In the Friday Folder, you will find your conference date and time. Please let me know ASAP if this will not work for you so we can make other arrangements. It's super important to me that we get a chance to meet so that I can show you all your child's wonderful progress.

Learning Objectives for the week:

Fundations: v, w - letter ID, formation and sounds

Reading: Using the picture as a clue to know what the words say. sight word ID - go

Writing: Writing sentence using sight words: I, see, go, the

Math: Counting, Using a 5 frame, counting by 10s. We even introduced the idea of tens and ones!

Matching game. We were matching numbers to quantities.

We love paper collage in here. Last week we updated our bulletin board with a fall scene. We talked about things and colors we see in the fall. Then we identified which were living and non-living. After that we used construction paper to create this beautiful fall scene.
