We had our second citizen of the month assembly this week.  Congratulations to this friend!  We are proud of you!

Each week we will celebrate one of our classmates. This student is chosen at random.  Our special me gets to bring in their favorite book to read, take home our class collage book, and be our line leader for the week.  On Friday, we write letters to our Special me so they can keep it as a kindergarten memory.  Here is our first special me!

We had two birthday celebrations this week.  Happy birthday friend!  Thanks for sharing treats!

Happy birthday to this friend too!  Thanks for sharing treats!

This weeks learning objectives:

Writing:  adding more about one topic
Fundations: P, J name, sound and formation
Math: Sorting and graphing shapes, counting, combinations to 10, number formation

Finding the word the in text
Sorting shapes and graphing our results

We also made shapes with our bodies.  Can you guess what shapes we made?

Sorting letters and words

We learned that mental images are the pictures our brain makes when we read words.  This helps us understand what we read.  We drew mental images of our poem this week.  Check out these awesome mental images!

A note from Mrs. Wright:
Thank you to all families that have sent in supplies for our pumpkin decorating!  It will be lots of fun.

In the Friday Folder this week, there is information about our parent teacher conferences that are coming up in November.  Please fill this out and let us know a good time for you to come and chat with me about all the awesome things your child is doing.  Feel free to email me if there is anything specific that you would like me to cover.  I look forward to talking to all of you.
