And the countdown begins.

Only four days left.  It seems like mid-year it felt like forever, and then all of a sudden it was the end in an instant.  We visited a first grade classroom this week to ask some questions about what might be in store.  I was impressed with the questions our kids asked.  They got the chance to listen to the first graders read books from their book boxes too.  I definitely think this eased some worries.

We have really enjoyed our pushes and pulls unit with Mrs. Fitch.  She taught us that a force is a push or a pull.

We did sorting for math this week.  We sorted the same objects in multiple ways.  We sorted by color and by shape.  Check out some of our sorting!

Congratulations to our Citizen of the Month!  We are proud of you!

Happy Birthday Friend!  Thanks for sharing treats!

Monday is field day.  Here are some things you need to know:
  • Please dress in weather appropriate play clothes.  No swimming suits please.
  • Your child may bring a change of clothes in case they get wet.
  • Your child can bring a towel and a hat.
  • It should be a super fun day!  Let's hope for nice weather!
Next Thursday is our last day!  We hope you can join us for our end of the year picnic.  It will begin at 10:00 in the gym.  We have some neat things planned.  Look for a special invitation in your child's backpack tomorrow.

A wonderful week! Gosh you know how to make someone feel appreciated!!!

Oh my goodness!  I feel so loved!  You all have spoiled me this week!  I am overwhelmed by your generosity.  This week has truly been a gift.

The cards were so touching.  I enjoyed listening to each one as they read them to me.  I got a little teary reading them.

On Wednesday as all our little darlings came in with scrapbook supplies I just giggled with happiness.  They were so excited to show me what they had brought.  I cannot wait to get started with all of my fun new goodies.

My Thursday treat was so tasty!  It was even a sharing size so I had to share!  :)

On Friday we celebrated our summer birthdays with cookie cake and a fabulous gift for me!  Thank you all for my gift!  I used the face brush this weekend and it was amazing.  I got so choked up I shed a could of tears.  You all are the best!!!!

For math this week we worked on subtraction strategies.  Two of our days were spent counting our penny drive donations.  Our class raised $110.78!  Thank you all!!!

Our week this week was full of assessments!  We kept our regular routines but I spent our small group time assessing one on one.  I'm trying to get all our loose ends tied up before our last 9 days are over.  9 days.  I can't even believe it.  Where did this year go?!  We got our year books this week and we had a great time singing them.

General Announcements:
Next week we will be doing a special science unit with Mrs. Fitch. We will need some volunteers for a couple of the days.  If you able to help please click this link.  Four volunteers would be awesome!
