The Highlight Reel

Friday, August 25, 2017
Our first full week was packed full of fun!  Monday's eclipse was amazing.  It was so wonderful to experience it with the kiddos that I had with me.  I'm so glad we had so many families join us too.  We have continued to work on routines and procedures this week.  We also managed to squeeze in some academic learning too!  Here are some of our learning goals:

Reading:  We read the timberwolf pledge and learned how to point to the words. Look in this week's Friday folder for your copy to practice at home.
Writing:  How to write the date, how to draw people, writing our name with an uppercase to start and all the other letters lowercase.
Math:  Counting with one to one correspondence, comparing length, understanding numbers vs letters and shapes.

Here's our week in pictures!  I've got tons this week!  We had lots going on.
This picture sums up our experience!  It was pretty cool!!!

These next three were taken here at Beulah by a Beulah parent with an amazing camera!

We used strips to learn about comparing length.  Each kiddo got a strip.  Then they had to go find the person with the matching strip.  Once they found them, we had to answer a few questions to get to know each other.

Finishing up those self portraits!  They're beautiful!

Enjoying this beautiful weather.

 Choice time is our favorite!

We met our Counselor this week and learned what she can do for us.

We learned how to use our scissors and glue and made paper collage self portraits.

Notes from Mrs. Wright:

  • Thursday, August 31 - Get the Scoop Night.  Click here to see your time.  Please sign up if you haven't already.

  • We still have some snacks from our Monday snack fest.  I have been giving the kids a choice between home snack and school snack.  We will most likely run out by mid week.  Thank you for sending your child snacks! And thank you to all the wonderful families that sent in eclipse snacks.  We have definitely enjoyed them all!

  • Please return the Friday Folder on Monday.

  • We will begin our day on Monday in the gym.  Send your child to the gym with his or her backpack on when they arrive in the morning.

    • Our crayon boxes are already falling apart.  We are taping them but they won't last long.  Last year, the families sent in plastic soap boxes.  They fit a box of crayons perfectly.  They are just a dollar or two.  If you'd be willing to send one in for your child it would be very helpful.  We've had the bottom fall out of lots of crayons this week!  Thank you!
