Fantastic first week back!

What a wonderful week!  I am so amazed at how well the kids got right back into the school routines.  We have upped our expectations and they have risen to the occasion.  We have a new points system we call class dojo.  We made a list together of ways to earn points and ways to lose points.  Our weekly goal is 25 points.  Earning 25 points in a week earns the right to take off shoes on Friday.  We also have a dojo leader each day.  This person gets to choose our dancing video the next morning.  I keep this super private.  On Friday I tell them if they got enough points to take shoes off and we have a private conferences if they do not.  So far this has been super motivating!  

This week's learning objectives: 

Reading:  Noticing when there is a change in the pattern of the words and adjusting what we read

Writing:  Writing Process, word spaces, capitals, punctuation, stretching words to spell them.  

Math:  Identifying and drawing shapes, combinations to 10, exploring a 100s chart & looking for patterns

Fundations:  letter formation uppercase letters.  We finished the alphabet this week.  Writing letters that correspond with sounds.

Things to Remember:

• January 13 - 17 - 4th Grade Service Learning.  Bracelets for EOE (Eosinophilic esophagitis).  They will be sold in the lobby for 2$ each. 
• Friday, January 17 - Wear purple to support our timber wolves that have EOE
• Monday, January 20 - No School - Martin Luther King Day
• Thursday, January 23 - PTA meeting in the library 6:30
• Friday, January 24 - Bring a puzzle to School Day
• Wednesday, January 29 - Early Dismissal 12:50
