A Special Visit

Friday, September 20, 2019
This week we had a special visit from Mrs. Monica Naylor.  She is the daughter of Beulah Ralph.  She came to our class to share about her mother and tell a story about her as a child.  In your child's Friday Folder, they have the same story that Mrs. Naylor told to our class.  You can read and share it together.  It was so great to hear about the legacy of the woman that our school was named after.

Learning Objectives for the week:

Reading:  One to One matching, finding letters in a poem, using the picture as a clue
Writing:  Identifying and writing beginning sounds to label our stories
Math:  Patterns, identifying shapes, more and less, counting
Fundations:  Letter ID sound and formation, c,o
Science:  Life Cycle of a butterfly.

Our week in pictures

This week we started our poetry notebooks.  This week's poem is Yellow.  We will keep this poetry notebook in our book boxes to read during read to self.

We looked for triangles in magazines.  We cut them out and glued them on a large blue triangle.

These two friends even made a giant triangle out of triangles!
